A continues strive to improve the performance of our core and blast drill rigs developed in Orebro call for more sophisticated control systems and a higher degree of automated solutions. We are now looking for an engineer with good knowledge within electrical and mechatronic systems, a general understanding of mobile equipment and capabilities to go from idea to a technical solution. The positions will be in the SED R&D Rig System Group where other responsibilities are hydraulic and compressor -systems. The subsystems is becoming more and more integrated which create new possibilities of innovative thinking. The right candidate will have great opportunities to contribute to the drill rig of the future and good possibilities to influence how to plan your work The work involves responsibility to develop, implement and adapt our electrical systems in terms of booth hardware, system architecture and functionality to fulfill future requirements regarding e.g. performance, availability and safety. Create solutions based on functional requirements, specify and develop components together with sub suppliers and verify the performance on the final product will also be key parts of the work. You will get the opportunity to work with advanced mobile machines and a wide variety of task together with colleagues in our continuous quest finding the right balance between different product properties. The goals and targets are achieved via a continuous dialogue with colleagues and stakeholders which requires good collaboration capabilities.
We believe you have some years of professional experience within mechatronics and electrical control systems or other highly qualified engineering background. You are used to take ideas from an initial concept to serial production, creating technical documentation and verify technical solutions.
Good knowledge in the field of mechatronics. Good knowledge of mobile control systems, system architectures and sensors. Knowledge in functional and algorithm development or programming is meritorious. Experience of cad design tools and PLM systems is meritorious. Good command in English, both verbally and in writing.
You need to have a documented academic background within relevant area or other highly qualified engineering background.

Much work is performed in cross-functional teams so good collaboration skills is essential. You must have a structured and analytical approach where you combine theory and practice as some of the tasks include practical skills. Surface and Exploration Drilling (SED) is a division within Business Area Mining and Rock Excavation Technique. The division has operations in Örebro (Sweden), Yokohama (Japan), Nanjing (China), Nasik (India) and Bagnolo (Italy). Divisional management is based in Sweden. The division develops, manufacture and market globally a wide range of rock drilling equipment for different applications in construction, exploration and mining.
