The main focus for the Head of Development Quality is to build a completely new team of product quality managers and deploy data-driven quality methods and closed quality feedback loop in the development programs. The Head of Development Quality will work closely with the management teams for Global Product Quality, Research, Development & Commercialization as well as Global Operation.
Responsibilities in the role
Secure early failure mode identification and prevention by facilitating DFMEA in development programs
Support development programs in planning and implementing test-to-failure for early identification and elimination of faults.
Support the development programs in deploying structured approaches to study the relationship between multiple input variables and key output variables to optimize the design of complex technical systems (DOE).
Lead the work to install design guidelines based on market quality feedback. Work closely with development line managers (design guideline owners) to achieve it. Ensure fulfilment of design guidelines in development programs to avoid repeats
Prioritize, request and support root cause analysis in sustaining phase (may also be referred to as product maintenance phase), based on quality feedback from regional product quality departments. Ensure that design guidelines and key processes are updated by line management based on findings from root cause analysis.
Overall, a big part of the responsibility in the role is to validate that the key measurable characteristics of products and services (CTQs) are identified at early stage of the development program and will meet the performance standards needed to satisfy the customer.
And as part of it, support the development program in deploying systematic quality methods to transform voice of customer into engineering characteristics (QFD). You will ensure closed feedback loop in the development program – from project start to end of product life (manage hypercare together with development program manager and prioritize product quality improvements in sustaining period).
Another important part of the job will be to define, manage, and own the product quality plan (key product quality activities and quality KPIs to be fulfilled at respective milestone). Report readiness to development program manager and key stakeholders.
You will lead continuous improvement processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness of Development Quality as well as lead recruitment and efforts to retain and develop first class talent.
Do you have what it takes to make GN Hearing even more successful?
Then you will approve product quality plans and milestone readiness assessments and as part of the Product Quality Management team, you will drive the GN Hearing quality improvement program.
You have leadership experience from line management, preferably within R&D and quality and strong experience from developing products with complex technical systems (HW, SW systems, mechanics) in regulated business. We would like to see strong experience from improving R&D processes, using tools like DFMEA, CTQ, QFD, design rules, DOE, quality feedback loop. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
You are fluent communication in English - written and verbally. Danish preferred but not a prerequisite.
It should be expected that there will be approx. 20-40 yearly travelling days to visit R&D sites and manufacturing sites across the world.
