A role that includes an overall responsibility for developing, implementing and controlling Axiell’s overarching information security. The role is company-wide but rooted within the Product and Platform Engineering (PPE) division of Axiell.

Who are you?  

You have a good knowledge of cybersecurity, ideally with CISSP. You are familiar with cloud, hybrid, and traditional architectures that are currently in use today. You understand how to mitigate non-technical threats such as poor end-user behaviour, and the importance of regularly testing for vulnerabilities. You understand the challenges involved in managing a complex landscape of solutions and know how to prioritize. You also understand the challenges of application security. Good communication with the various owners of the different environments is crucial. 

This role is a mix of strategic, tactical, and operational planning. At the strategic level, you must deliver the vision and be a good communicator to senior IT management. At the tactical level, you must identify and prioritize smart solutions to strengthen our security posture.  Finally, at the operational level, you will ensure that solutions are implemented by coordinating the stakeholders, amongst others the datacenter managers, the network team, and the application teams. 

You will be familiar with pen testing, both at the network and application level. Owning projects connected to pen testing will be an important part of the role. 

Collaboration with the architecture group at PPE will be crucial to success. 

You will report to the PPE leadership team. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Work with PPE Management Team on security strategy, and delivering cybersecurity reports 

  • Define and ensure that the PPE security practices are up to standard, including oversight of all cybersecurity work and administering the risk log. 

  • Continuously audit and control PPE cybersecurity, including periodic phishing tests and other assurance checks such as patching checks, Pen Testing etc. 

  • Record and provide summaries of our security work, to both internal and external customers 

  • Lead work to remedy cybersecurity vulnerabilities, both at the network and application level 

  • Lead the threat analysis work and identify additional cybertech controls and solutions required.  

  • Define and coordinate the end-user cybersecurity education including promoting good practice and coordinating procurement of specialist training and tools 

  • Be the focal point for security questions, both internally and externally (may involve meeting customers) 

  • Contribute towards strengthening our future solutions from a security standpoint 

  • Help visualize and explain the security landscape 

  • Ensure that the rest of the PPE staff have the requisite knowledge in order to ensure that security built-in and not an add-on. 

  • Develop relationships with key vendors in relation to cybersecurity 

  • Manage cybersecurity incidents
