ABOUT THE ROLE
Academic Work is on behalf of our client Avinode looking for a Technical Product Specialist to their office in Gothenburg. Avinode is an online marketplace where brokers and operators for air charter meet and do business. The company was founded 17 years ago by 3 Masters students at Chalmers Institute of Technology. Today, they have 42 employees working in the HQ in Gothenburg and another 40 divided in their offices in Miami and Portland. Avinode is an international company where the members you will be in contact with are mainly from Europe and many of your colleagues are English speaking.
Avinode have an open office space, you will sometimes hear music in the background and can go to the kitchen and play x-box if you want to take a short break. On Tuesdays, the whole office gathers for a Breakfast meeting, touching base and mingling to build our strong team. Thursdays, we take “fika” seriously, which is a perfect opportunity for you to get to know your new colleagues, or Noders as they call themselves. They consider themselves serious in what they do and take great pride in delivering excellent service but always appreciate a bit of quirky humor around the office.
As a Technical Product Specialist at Avinode you will be a part of the Product Specialist Team, working closely with the Sales Team. They are looking for a new member to strengthen their team with a deeper level of knowledge of APIs, networks and how to debug problems in browsers and with a passion for service. This person will help their members with technical issues, general issues with the product and know how to communicate both externally and internally.
Academic Work is responsible for the recruitment process but the candidate that proceeds will be employed directly by Avinode.
As a Technical Product Specialist, you will be the first line technical support for Avinode’s members and partners. You will answer questions and troubleshoot their members’ issues in using their APIs and products. You will be the link between members, partners, and developers to ensure that information flows effortlessly and enables smooth integrations and maintenance thereof. You will do this through building and maintaining professional documentation describing their APIs and their implementation and support.
For example, you will:
- Provide timely response to newly submitted requests and questions, mostly through e-mail but also on the telephone.
- Answer questions and support members and partners across the globe and have a tight dialog with responsible Area Sales Managers and Key Account Managers for the members you help.
- Be able to see what the problem is and to communicate it with the developers to make sure Avinode builds a sustainable product.
- Proactively reaching out to members to maximize their value and usage of Avinode and gather their feedback.
- Do some face-to-face meetings with customers outside of Sweden together with an Area Sales Manager and attend events. You will travel up to 10 days a year.
The position suits someone who has a technical interest and curiosity in learning new systems. Excellent communication skills will help you to become a valuable player in this team. WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Have a higher education in Computer/IT.
- Have experience from working with service.
- Have a general understanding of the web, networks, and APIs and are able to use browser tools to debug problems.
- Are fluently in both spoken and written English.
- Have a work permit in Sweden and the documents to be able to travel abroad.
It will be considered an additional qualification if you have work experience from an administrative job.

You are solutions-oriented that makes you analyze and break down problems into component parts and are able to see the context and prioritizes the right solutions.
